Team CSA - The project ...

Ensure the sustainability of core missions

Our first task will be to establish a stable working environment capable of supporting our scientific missions. We have identified the following essential elements for the proper functioning of our mission:

  1. A particular focus on the telecommunications between our Cansat and the ground station
  2. A "power supply unit" of the Cansat that responds in a stable and reliable manner to all the constraints of the competition.
  3. A reliable data recording system on SD card.
  4. A primary mission free from defects

The secondary mission

This will be split into several tasks:

  1. A classic mission of real-time recording and transmission of data such as GPS position, speed on 3 axes, acceleration on 3 axes.
  2. A mission to monitor the vibrations and stresses to which our Cansat could be subjected during its flight.
  3. A mission related to air quality in collaboration with ISSeP and the Wallonair initiative

A scientific documentation to explain our experiments

Two options for the recovery of our Cansat

Innovative

  • A Cansat Drone
As soon as it is expelled from the launch rocket, our Cansat deploys its arms and transforms into a drone.
  • The accuracy of the landing point
There is no need to pilot our "Cansat-Drone", thanks to the encoding of a GPS position "Return Home", our Cansat lands where we expect it.

Classic

  • The parachute
A proven solution, a technique well mastered by our teams
  • An uncertainty about the landing point
The dependence on winds and drop parameters creates uncertainty about the landing point..
